After 14 years in the NHS, our founder set out to build a different kind of healthcare experience - one built on time, honesty, and prevention rather than rushed appointments and reactive treatment. Discover the story behind KP GP IV Therapy and why patient-centred, personalised care remains at its heart.

Why I Started KP GP IV Therapy

People often ask me why I started KP GP IV Therapy.

The truth is, it wasn't because I wanted to open another healthcare business.

It was because I wanted to provide the kind of care I always believed patients deserved.

I spent over 14 years working in the NHS, beginning my career as a radiographer before moving into clinical governance as a Lead Patient Safety and Risk Facilitator. Throughout my career, one thing never changed—I cared deeply about patients.

But over time, I became increasingly frustrated by a healthcare system that often focused on reacting to illness rather than preventing it.

Patients were waiting until they became unwell before receiving help.

Appointments were short.

Clinicians were under immense pressure.

People often left with unanswered questions or feeling like they hadn't been heard.

I knew healthcare could be different.

A More Personal Approach

When I left the NHS, I didn't stop believing in the values that brought me into healthcare in the first place.

If anything, those values became even stronger.

I wanted to create a service where people weren't rushed.

Where they had time to tell their story.

Where someone actually listened.

Where decisions were based on the individual sitting in front of me—not a ticking clock.

That's the foundation I built KP GP IV Therapy on.

Why IV Therapy?

One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "Why IV therapy?"

My answer is always the same.

IV therapy isn't a magic treatment, and it certainly isn't for everyone.

I don't believe everyone needs a vitamin drip.

What I do believe is that when used appropriately, alongside proper assessment and medical guidance, IV therapy can be one part of supporting someone's overall health.

For some people, it's appropriate.

For others, it isn't.

And I'm completely comfortable telling someone that an IV drip isn't the right option if that's what I genuinely believe.

Looking Beyond the Symptoms

Throughout my career, I've learned that symptoms rarely tell the whole story.

Someone who feels exhausted may have nutritional deficiencies.

Another person may simply be overwhelmed by stress.

Someone else may need further medical investigations rather than vitamins.

That's why I never want treatment to become transactional.

I want to understand why someone feels the way they do.

Sometimes that means recommending blood tests.

Sometimes it means suggesting lifestyle changes.

Sometimes it means advising a patient to see their GP or a specialist.

The goal has never been to sell treatments.

The goal has always been to help people.

Prevention Has Always Been My Passion

If you know me, you'll know I'm passionate about preventative healthcare.

I believe we should invest in our health before something goes wrong.

We service our cars every year.

We insure our homes.

Yet so many of us wait until we're exhausted or unwell before thinking about our own health.

I want to help change that mindset.

Whether that's through education, blood testing, lifestyle advice or IV therapy, I want people to understand their bodies and feel empowered to take control of their health.

The Promise I Make to Every Patient

Every patient who walks through my clinic deserves honesty.

If I think IV therapy could be beneficial, I'll explain why.

If I don't think it's the right choice, I'll tell you that too.

Because my responsibility isn't to provide everyone with a drip.

My responsibility is to do what's in your best interests.

That's the healthcare I believe in.

It's the healthcare I built KP GP IV Therapy to provide.

And it's the healthcare I'll continue to deliver every single day.
